The Filter Nodes

What is a filter? A filter acts upon a pixel according to the values of the neighboring pixels. This is very different to a simple color operation such as Multiply that acts in the same way upon all the pixels of an image. It is also the reason why filters take so much longer to process. Filters are capable of some funky stuff but are also a key part of the compositors workflow.
